Dream or Nightmare?
by compound complex ini have reached a frontier dreamt about as a child -- the outer reaches of a vast realm under stars.. though an imaginative and inquisitive lad, my forward-looking mind and open heart could never have conjured up this fabulous, this infinite unreality into which i have been catapulted.
what may appear a distortion of my former reality i tentatively accept as a cosmic tableau that threatens both to fascinate and crush my frail, puny body and spirit.
i am unable to comprehend what i gaze upon with frightened, delicious terror.. my recent escape from lunaria was of sheer necessity: my people have been overtaken by a scorpion race of alien malefactors whose intent toward us was not one of beneficient intervention but that of conquest.

This may be the year California burns down
by Hortensia inhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-25996522.
there's a photo of shasta lake near where i live -- it's very sad now to see how low the lake is.
and governor brown is being really wimpy about it, suggesting we not flush our toilets as often as usual.

Have you read this, or similar elsewhere?
* TIMING AND STRENGTH: THE FIRST SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE LATE WEDNESDAY AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY, WITH THE PRIMARY CONCERN BEING MODERATE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OVER THE MOUNTAINS. SNOW LEVELS WILL BE IN THE 500-1500 FT RANGE ACROSS THE SHASTA COUNTY MOUNTAINS, AND 2500-3500 FT RANGE ALONG THE WEST SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA. [weatherforyou.com]

Anyone else having a bad few weeks??
by quellycatface ini seem to have a really crap couple of months with stuff going wrong.
people being nasty to me.
i saw a neighbour of mine today (who i fell out with 18 months ago), to whom i've since apologised for losing my temper with, but today, when i smiled at her, she looked at me daggers!!!

I hope you're doing better now, quelly, what with the fine encouragement you've been offered.
Once an employer scolded me afterwards for the face I supposedly had made while we were both attending to a customer. He thought I was scowling at what he had been saying. I said no, I had been having stomach cramps all day, and at that particular moment I had been hit hard in the gut. He understood.
We all have periods where it seems never to get better, but, as noted, getting out, being with cheerful people, etc., will brighten your mood instantly. I live alone and go for a walk when I'm down. I always meet up with a neighbor and start cheering up the moment we begin shooting the breeze.
Blessings and peace.

The yuk factor and others
by jgnat inwill you share with me an interesting discussion on what morals we all may have in common?
my recent reading has resulted in a fundamental shift in my worldview.
it feels like my house of cards have reshuffled themselves yet again, and everything i see, hear and smell is put in a new context.

Good morning, jgnat:
Such have been the thoughts crossing my mind and touching my heart of late.
When I hear of a couple living together without the so-called (by the WT) benefit of marriage, I say 'so what?' While I know first hand how many JWs (or, for that matter, other Christian fundamentalists) are grateful for strict guidelines on sexual conduct, this over-the-top nitpicking regarding who may associate with whom, may they hold hands, must they be chaperoned, etc., no longer dominates my thinking and conduct.
I was raised by a gentleman; I respect boundaries and know the meaning of propriety.
Blessings, dear jgnat.

I appreciate the knowledge you have of dogs, Riley, and your sharing it with us.
Somebody a few years ago asked me to watch her dogs and house while she was on vacation. Word spread in the community and more jobs came my way. As I'm not really trained in this field, I ask individuals experienced in dog care for clarification on dog handling. I'm no expert.
Your input is very much appreciated!
